9 Simple Tricks for Frugal Budgeted Travel Tips

6 February 2018 by Jo

Everyone loves a good travel experience; a positive story to tell. However, it’s not a must that you spend a lot of money to make the best out of a journey or trip. You definitely would want to enjoy the best stuff while on travel and still keep your money, but the problem may be that you don’t really know how to make that happen. I mean, is it even possible?

The good news is, it’s actually possible. You can enjoy a cool travel experience in a frugal manner that takes into account all the good things you like to enjoy. But how exactly do you do it? Here’s how:

1.     Do the Timing – Travel During Off-Peaks

For one, transport costs have a lot to do with the time. You’ll realize that the costs tend to go up during peak seasons when everyone is travelling to and from various popular destinations. That gives you a good idea and an incredible trick to use if you want to travel and pay less. If you want that, all you have to do is wait it out and plan your travel during the off-peak season when the costs are lower.

2.     Plan for your Travel Early Enough

The problem with some people is that they make last minute rushed decisions and bungled plans, and that ends up messing them up big time. The trick is to make your travel plans early enough. This way, you can catch on the usually fast and cheap seasonal deals and also avoid the stress and all the headaches of having to adapt to unfavorable deals when you embark on a poorly planned travel. Also, you get to make an inclusive budget with everything considered and allocated money for. You don’t want any unpleasant surprises during your travel.

3.     Find Cheaper Hotel Accommodations and Eateries

If you’re a smart traveler, then you already know about coupons, and that means that you can search for and use them to get cheap meals and hotel accommodations while on your travel. You can also check around your destination to find cheap options for meals and accommodation. However, you need to make sure that you stay within safe zones. You don’t want to spend a night in an unsafe neighborhood.

4.     Use the Free Alternatives

If you’re really serious about keeping a low budget, then you already know that you don’t really have to visit all the places where you would need to pay some entry fees. Instead, look out for the free offers and take them up. For example, some tourist destinations will offer some free entry days and some treats of sorts. You can utilize those instead of forking out your cash on other days. Besides that, you can always find the free-to-visit sites

5.     Have a Sharp Eye for Discounts

A mind focused on being frugal is a sharp mind when it comes to spotting saving opportunities, and that’s why you need to be in one every possible discount offer you can get. For one, various enterprises like hotels and airlines extend occasional discounts on their services. You can keep yourself updated on such by signing up for their online newsletters and have the offers dropped right into your inbox. You can even sign up for many newsletters from various entities and give yourself the chance to pick the best.

6.     Keep Abreast of Any Price Changes

If you’re passing through places where the costs of goods and services are influenced by time of day, weather, or season, you might want to know about that too. For example, some hotels and restaurants will sell certain meals and drinks at lower prices at particular times of day – you might find that drinks are cheaper at night than during the evening peak hours or during the day. Grab that opportunity and make the best of it. Also, you may find that transport costs to some regions fluctuate with time. Use that too and travel on the cheap.

7.     Check out for Destination-Specific Offers

Some service providers like airlines offer discounted charges for those travelling to a certain destination at a particular time – let’s say, during the weekend. If you search around and keep up-to-date with those service providers, you can very easily get wind of those specific offers and grab them. However, you need to make sure that the offer in question covers your route of choice.  This way, you could save something.

8.     Carry the Appropriate Clothing

One mistake a lot of people make is jumping onto trains and airplanes and travelling to places where they have no idea how the weather works. If you do this, you might end up spending extra money buying the proper clothing to go with the weather. That’s why it’s important to do some quick research or ask around to get an idea of what kind of weather conditions you will be running into over there. If it’s chilly, you carry some heavy clothing. If it’s warm and sunny, you do the opposite.

9.     Keep Frugal, NOT Broke

The worst you can do to yourself is heading out there without enough funds to sustain your travel to and fro. As much as you would want to do it cheaply, it doesn’t mean you should go broke in the middle of a journey. However, some things might come up and you find yourself facing a critical cash shortfall. If that happens, you could opt to take personal loans no credit check to patch things up. The good news is that you can apply for the loan online and get the money within hours. That’s a good way to save a travel experience.

As you’ve already realized, enjoying a frugal travel experience isn’t all about not treating yourself. It’s about looking for the best opportunities to do it while keeping the pinch off your pocket. In fact, there are always lots of real stories told by smart travelers who have done it and still doing it.
