Continuing (and concluding) my series on Her Majesty’s supermarkets, here is my review of Fortnum & Mason in photos:
Not quite your typical supermarket
Just so no one forgets who shops here

Christmas hampers ready to order
Advent calendars – that look just like an expensive doll’s house
If there is a fruit and you can glace it, it was here, glistening like jewels. An amazing display!
Marshmallows in every imaginable flavour
Good enough to eat? No, actually beautifully decorated cakes of soap, like miniature works of art
Even the entrance is not your average supermarket
Definitely not your average supermarket, Fortnum & Mason is a step back in time well worth discovering. Oh, and they serve Tea as well!

Yes! Tea at F&M is a lovely experience, delicious, and definitely worth the price. A glass of champagne, if that is your ‘cup of tea’, is good, too.
Did you photograph the 1st floor elevator door? I recall its brass loveliness being quite spectacular. Or maybe just a young gir’sl memory growing dim?!

I’ve had tea there previously, but not this time unfortunately. I don’t recall those doors but the architecture of the whole building is amazing.

I’m going to spend my next free weekend in that fridge filled with Stilton. Did I mention I love cheese? 🙂
Seriously though, I only ever visit friends in London and do very little else. I think I need some Fortnum & Mason in my life.
The Stilton fridge was amazing….F&M is a really interesting shop – great gift-type stock as well as the food, and FAR fewer tourists than at Harrods
